One October day a visiting pastor asked himself |
” What can I do for that little woman? How can I bless her“
He resolved to pray – for Jimmy to come back. That was on a Friday. |
The following Wednesday, Rachel was called to the phone. It was Jimmy. He had just moved to Calgary, an hours drive from Turner Valley. Could they meet tomorrow? What an unforgettable conversation. How does one react to a miracle? When she hung up the phone, Rachel just stood there, stunned. |
The next morning Rachel met her taII, handsome, grown-up Jimmy. |
” He came out to meet me and I just walked up to him. He opened up his arms and I walked into them. I just laid my head on his chest. I didn‘t cry“.
I just said |
“Don‘t let go; don’t let go for a minute, ok?’”
They stood for a long while, just holding one another – mother and son. God had remembered Rachel. |
Like his siblings, Jimmy had found his birth-mother by means of the Adoption Registry. Not long after that, Rachel was invited to speak at a house-fellowship meeting in Calgary. James was with her. The people listened to her testimony intently , spellbound. When she was done, James spoke up. |
“I was raised in a Christian home,”
He said. |
“At age seven I accepted Jesus, But I never believed God did miracles until I met this woman – my mother. But God’s not finished. You see, I haven‘t met my brothers and sisters yet. We believe that we’re going to meet. But, you know what? Even if we don‘t, it doesn’t matter; because we’ll meet in Heaven .”
There was not a dry eye in the room. |
