I decided to write a introduction page to “God Remembered Rachel” so you the reader can understand the back story to her amazing journey and have more context to her story

Rachels early life.

Rachel was born to two loving parents at Grace Hospital in Ottawa in 1944 at the height of the second world war.

Rachel was the 3rd child of fifteen; 6 died at child birth and 9 survived. As a beautiful young girl she lived in an old farm house in rural Quebec surrounded with acres of tall beautiful grass. One day my mom was taken to the hospital and lost her 6th child, my little brother, and she was very sick, and she stayed in the hospital for quite a while. My father was left to care for us, and in those days the church and the government ran our home.

While playing in the tall grass one day Rachel was approached by a woman she didn’t know. She asked Rachel to take her hand; being around 5 years old and taught to trust she did. Rachel without saying goodbye to her mother who was in the hospital or hugging her dad, was led to an orphanage in Quebec that was run by nuns’ of the church.

Rachel brought to the Orphanage

While at the orphanage Rachel became sick and was bed ridden for almost a year and ended up in the hospital, diagnosed with rheumatic fever. The doctors tried to get consent for heart surgery. However, Rachels mother intervened and did not give consent. Rachel was treated and released to foster care.

Rachels early life.

Rachel still too young to understand and now in foster care with other foster children soon experienced the ugly side of foster care, repeatedly molested at around 8 years old by an older male foster child. Rachel like all victims of molestation of the time did what you were suppose to do “You are to be seen and not heard“. To Rachels surprise her two brothers were also placed in the same foster care. Rachel would later find out five of her nine brothers and sisters were placed in foster care. Rachels mother was forced due to poverty to do the unthinkable “Give Up Her Children To The System”. Rachels mother cried as Rachel would later weep.

Rachel goes home

Now around 12 Rachel is reunited with mom and dad and being a tenacious tween and her only way to communicate was to scream what was on her mind. Meeting her soon to be husband at the age of 13 years old and finding an escape from her former life, she married Tom at sixteen and baby Tom was on his way by age 17 and there would be six more to come.

Toxic abusive relationship

Rachel now married found out the hard way that love endures. 10 years of physical and psychological abuse and finally at the age of 23 and seven kids later she broke, so the pattern of her life is set and she would soon find out “God Does Know Who She Is”.

And So Rachels Pattern Started In Her Life.
